passion for pigs on tour
“Passion for Pigs on Tour” is a collaborative art project, which invites known and lesser-known artists to decorate life-size fibreglass pigs at a series of events. The resulting Designer pigs are then sold for: the Leontienhuis, a shelter for people with an eating disorder.
By making the connection between pig farming and art, pig farmers are striving to bring to the attention of as many people as possible the nature of pig farming and the way, in which farmers produce food. “Passion for Pigs on Tour” was the brainchild of Huub Fransen , and it was subsequently adopted by Varkens Vandaag (Pigs Today). Iwan van den Tillaart of "Pigs Today" works in unison with Huub to give shape to the art parade.

“Passion for Pigs on Tour” During various events, professional artists and public figures decorate life-size fiberglass pigs “live”. With the “tour”, Pigs Today wishes to attract and appeal to as many people as possible. Together with the artists, Pigs Today, with the help of a number of enthusiastic farmers explain all the ‘ins and outs’ of Dutch Pig Farming.
